Limited Lifetime Warranty

 

Wilhoite Guitars warrants to the original retail purchaser that each Wilhoite Guitars instrument shall be free from defects in materials and workmanship for the lifetime of the original owner, subject to the limitations, exclusions, and conditions set forth in this warranty.

 

This warranty applies only to instruments purchased new from Wilhoite Guitars or an authorized Wilhoite Guitars dealer. This warranty is non-transferable and extends only to the original purchaser with proof of purchase.

 

Wilhoite Guitars reserves the right to determine whether a defect is covered under this warranty.

Coverage

 

This limited lifetime warranty covers:

Structural defects in the neck-through, set-neck, or bolt-on construction

 

Defects in wood materials and craftsmanship

 

Neck joint failures caused by manufacturing defects

 

Truss rod failure due to manufacturing defect

 

Fretboard separation caused by manufacturing defect

 

Bridge stud pullout caused by manufacturing defect

 

Electronics failure due to defective components or workmanship

 

Hardware failure resulting from manufacturing defect

 

Finish defects present at the time of delivery

If Wilhoite Guitars determines that the instrument contains a defect covered by this warranty, Wilhoite Guitars may, at its sole discretion:

 

Repair the instrument

​

Replace defective parts

 

Replace the instrument with the same or comparable model

 

Issue partial or full store credit

 

 

Repair or replacement decisions are made solely by Wilhoite Guitars.

Exclusions

​

This warranty does not cover:

 

Normal wear and tear

​

Cosmetic wear from regular use

 

Fret wear

 

Oxidation, corrosion, or tarnishing of hardware

 

String wear or breakage

 

Damage caused by humidity, dryness, temperature changes, or improper storage

​

Neck movement or wood movement caused by environmental conditions

 

Damage caused by improper setup or maintenance

 

Damage resulting from misuse, neglect, abuse, accidents, or modification

 

Cracks, warping, or separation caused by exposure to improper environmental conditions

 

Damage caused during shipping by parties other than Wilhoite Guitars

 

Damage caused by unauthorized repairs or modifications

 

Damage caused by improper string gauges or tunings beyond intended design limits

 

Damage caused by use of the instrument outside normal playing conditions

Consumable items including strings, picks, batteries, or finishes worn through normal use

​

Intentional damage

 

 

Wood is a natural material and may react to environmental conditions. Slight movement, finish checking, grain sinking, and seasonal changes are considered normal and are not defects.

 

Custom relic finishes, distressed finishes, natural satin finishes, open-pore finishes, spalting, figured woods, knotting, mineral streaks, color variation, and other naturally occurring wood characteristics are not considered defects.

Electronics and Hardware

 

Electronic components and hardware are covered for a period of one (1) year from the original purchase date against manufacturing defects unless otherwise stated.

 

This includes:

 

Pickups

 

Potentiometers

 

Switches

 

Output jacks

 

Tuners

 

Bridges

Locking nuts

 

Strap buttons

 

 

Consumable or wearable hardware items are not covered under lifetime warranty coverage.

Finish Warranty

 

Finish defects caused by manufacturing errors are covered for one (1)  year

 

This warranty does not cover:

Finish checking

​

Fading

 

UV discoloration

 

Scratches

 

Dents

 

Chips

​

Wear from playing

 

Chemical damage

 

Damage from guitar stands, straps, cases, or cleaners

 

 

Nitrocellulose, oil, wax, satin, matte, and open-pore finishes naturally age and wear over time.

Environmental Requirements

 

To maintain warranty coverage, the instrument must be stored and maintained under proper environmental conditions.

 

Recommended conditions:

​

Relative humidity between 40% and 55%

 

Avoid rapid temperature changes

 

Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight

 

Avoid excessive dryness or moisture

 

 

Failure to maintain proper environmental conditions may void warranty coverage.

Deposits and Custom Order Policy

 

All custom instrument orders require a non-refundable deposit equal to fifty percent (50%) of the total purchase price before production begins.

 

The deposit secures:

 

Build scheduling

Materials procurement

 

Reserved production time

 

Custom design and consultation work

 

 

Because custom instruments are built to customer specifications and often require special-order materials, deposits are non-refundable once production, material acquisition, design work, or machining has begun.

​

The remaining balance must be paid in full before the instrument is shipped or delivered unless otherwise agreed in writing.

 

Failure to complete final payment within a reasonable timeframe may result in cancellation of the order. In such cases, Wilhoite Guitars reserves the right to retain the deposit and resell the instrument.

 

Changes requested after production has begun may result in additional charges, production delays, or denial of requested modifications.

Custom Instruments

Custom-built instruments may contain unique woods, extended-range configurations, multiscale designs, fretless construction, experimental electronics, or specialty hardware.

 

Due to the custom nature of these instruments:

 

Slight cosmetic variation is normal

 

Natural wood variation is expected

​

Tonal characteristics are subjective and not guaranteed

 

Weight is approximate and not guaranteed unless specifically agreed in writing

 

 

Custom specifications approved by the customer are considered accepted upon build approval.

 

Custom orders are non-refundable once production has begun unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Void of Warranty

This warranty shall become void if:

 

The serial number has been removed or altered

 

The instrument has been modified outside factory specifications

 

Unauthorized repairs or refinishing have been performed

 

The instrument has been subjected to abuse or neglect

 

The instrument has been exposed to extreme environmental conditions

 

Non-approved routing, drilling, or structural modifications have been made

Shipping and Service

 

The customer is responsible for:

 

Shipping costs to Wilhoite Guitars

 

Proper packaging and insurance during transit

 

Any import duties, taxes, or customs fees

 

 

Wilhoite Guitars is not responsible for damage caused during transit to the service location.

If a warranty claim is approved, Wilhoite Guitars may cover return shipping at its discretion.

Maximum liability under this warranty shall not exceed the original purchase price of the instrument.
